Soon after the Mangalore Pub Incident, Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik had threatened people wanting to celebrate Valentine's Day in Bangalore. The gang has warned that they would take couples to temple and force them to marry. If the couple denied marriage they would be forced to tie Rakhi which is a symbol of brother-sister relationship.

A gang of 40 gundas barge into a pub in Mangalore and attacks women. They beat women, insult them and molest them. The extremist gang calls itself Sri Ram Sene. Sri Ram Sene's chief Pramod Muthalik has said the issue is minor. He calls for discussion about the actual issue - women going to pubs.
