Celebrate Valentine's Day In Bangalore
Soon after the Mangalore Pub Incident, Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik had threatened people wanting to celebrate Valentine's Day in Bangalore. The gang has warned that they would take couples to temple and force them to marry. If the couple denied marriage they would be forced to tie Rakhi which is a symbol of brother-sister relationship.
No doubt the warning was condemned by people all over India. This time the chief minister, Yediyurappa has acted on the issue. The police have assured support to people and has encouraged people to express their love and celebrate Valentine's day. It is also nice to hear that police have reassured pub and bar owners that enough security would be provided to them.
India is a secular state and will remain so. Nobody can take away your freedom to express yourself. Go ahead, ignore Sri Ram Sene and do what you want to do this February 14th in Bangalore. Report any untoward incident to police immediately.
